In 2011, Karl Hardesty co-founded Hardesty, LLC, a national professional services firm providing on-demand, experienced executives to companies in need of immediate CFO, Controller and other financial and accounting talent. Karl teamed up with industry veteran, Arthur Cohen and the principals of GlassRatner Advisory & Capital Group, LLC to form a new firm focused on the “Office of the CFO”.
Karl visualized a business model that allows financial leaders to be entrepreneurial and innovative in a collaborative atmosphere, while offering clients immediate access to proven talent and high-value intellectual capital. Hardesty, LLC stakes its reputation on the timely completion of its clients’ high priority initiatives. Our partners and principals become an integral part of clients’ business whether the assignment is permanent or interim in nature. Karl’s demand for high standards of quality means only the most qualified CFOs will be admitted to the firm. His quest for superb client satisfaction keeps him focused on deploying top line talent to achieve bottom line results.
Prior to forming Hardesty, Karl held a number of firm-wide leadership positions with Tatum, LLC after founding the firm’s Pacific Region practice in 1999 and growing it to the largest operation within the firm. Karl also served on Tatum’s Management Committee and innovated many practices that became standard operating procedure for Tatum. Prior to starting Tatum’s Southern California practice, he served as the CFO of two rapidly growing healthcare organizations, raising over $300 million in capital and guiding one company through a successful sale to a large public competitor. Karl spent the first 18 years of his professional career in public accounting as a CPA and auditor, completing his public accounting career as an audit partner with Ernst & Young. He has more than 30 years of broad business and financial management experience, having held leadership positions in public accounting, venture capital, rapid growth, healthcare and public entities. He is thoroughly acquainted with all aspects of the “Office of the CFO” and the attributes required to successfully practice as a financial leader and professional CFO.
